Golf Format
There will be 3 flights based on your Handicap*, 10-12 players per flight.
Tournament Winner: Since we are using Handicaps, scoring is Net score, so anyone from any flight can win the Trophy.
Your handicap is generated based on scored rounds of play with the club.
Players play two rounds of golf and the best score PER HOLE out of the 2 rounds is used.
If you can only play one week, you can still enter, but you only have 1 shot at a good score.
For Tournament you play in groups with players in your flight, so with players closest in ability to you, which can be fun.
On Course Games
Longest Drive, Closest to Pin and Closest to the Line – Winners each week
Prizes
1st, 2nd, 3rd place in each flight
Tournament Trophy goes to the lowest Net Score over all three flights
Bonus Prize for Lowest Gross Score
Priority for sign up is given to people who plan to play in the tournament. Handicap is initially limited to 36. You can still sign up on the wait list for tournament or non-tournament play so we get as many people on course as we can for these two weeks.
Qualified Players will be assigned into flights according to their established handicaps.
If you play both rounds, your lowest score on EACH hole will be used.
RULES OF PLAY
● NO MULLIGANS
● EVERY STROKE COUNTS- including whiffs
● NO GIMME PUTTS - You must putt out (finish the hole).
● THERE ARE NO Xs in Tournament – Play consecutive shots towards the hole, if you reach 10 pick up your ball and record the score as 10.
● DO NOT GIVE ADVICE OR ASK FOR IT - This is particularly important on the greens. Do not ask or tell how fast the putt is or how it breaks. You may tell another player where the pin is, the distance to the hole, etc., as these are deemed common knowledge. If a player asks you how they should proceed (anywhere on the course) you may give them their options, but not tell them how they should play.
COMPETITIONS DURING THE TOURNAMENT
Closest to the Pin – Hole 7
If your ball lands on the green (not the fringe), check the card posted off the green and see if anyone is already closer than you. If you think your ball is closer, measure distance from the hole to your ball. Add your name and the distance to the card. Leave the card off the green do not stick it where your ball was.
Longest Drive – Hole 5
Tee off on Hole 5. The ball must be ON THE FAIRWAY to count. It must be your first shot from the Tee and cannot be a provisional ball. There will be a card posted on a small metal post. Place it in the fairway center, parallel to where your ball lands. Add your name to the card if your ball is further than the previous position.
Most Accurate Drive – Hole 3
On Hole 3 there will be a line marked up the middle of the fairway. With your T shot, aim to land closest to the line. It does not matter how far down the line you are. If you are closer than where the post was when you arrived, then move it to where the middle of your ball is, after you hit. Suggest using a club handle to measure if it is similar distance to previous spot. Take a Photo for any disputes, especially if you are touching the line.
